Kindergarten

The transition from preschool to primary is a crucial time of change, at IPS our pre-school curriculum ensures smooth transition to primary school with a meaningful and progressive learning experience. In addition to age-appropriate activities in the school, which prepares a child for success in life; various other activities are conducted in the areas of language, numbers, general knowledge, music, as well as art, in a planned manner throughout the programme.

Primary

Key areas that the primary school curriculum addresses are listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, building a strong foundation in mathematics, an introduction to the subjects of science and social studies, a grasp over the second language i.e. Hindi/Sanskrit/Nepali/Mizo/Thai/Urdu, nurturing an interest in arts, craft, music and dance and also emphasis on physical education and sport.

Middle

Teachers, students and parents continue to be partners in the learning process as they explore and make connections across subjects, develop critical thinking and apply their knowledge to real-life situations. The acquisition of new knowledge is made more meaningful through opportunities to apply it. Projects, exhibitions, presentations or field trips ensure that the learner finds many avenues to see the theory in practice.

Senior

The primary objective is to provide a solid and unshakeable foundation in the core subject areas of science, mathematics, social science, language and environmental studies. It is not limited to textbook learning alone – instead our experiential curriculum provides hands-on learning, teaches macro concepts, encourages free expression and develops creative and critical thinking faculties. As per the board guidelines, the prime focus of our curriculum is on innovations in teaching-learning methodologies by devising student friendly and student centered paradigms.

Sports

We lay emphasis on physical education and physical fitness. Apart from learning the intricacies of various games, sports and physical education, the students develop stamina & endurance that is so essential to be able to get away from a sedentary way of life and develop the spirit of sportsmanship. Art & Music

Art is one of the highest forms of expression, a language that we speak, cutting through individual differences in culture and ability. Art brings every subject to life and turns abstractions into concrete reality. At IPS the Art & craft classes give an opportunity to a child to express his/her innate senses. The Art & Craft classes provide every student an opportunity to explore his artistic side, be it painting, origami, oil on canvas or something as simple & unique as paper craft.
At IPS, Music & Dance are believed to be the expression of the soul. We focus on basic lessons of Music & dance. Our music & dance curriculum focuses on children learning basic music notes, basic dance movements which enable incredible coordination and foster close relationships. Our students are introduced to both Indian and Western music, vocal as well as instrumental. All kinds of Dance forms like Indian, contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz etc. are introduced to children. Our students opt Music as their subject at secondary and senior secondary level.
